It seemed like a good idea at the time.

In late July I traded a slumping Dustin Pedroia away for David DeJesus. Even bona thought it was a good idea.

Now Pedroia is the AL Rookie of the Year and DeJesus had a "nice season" as the leadoff man for the Royals.

At least I didn't draft Carl Pavano this year.

You shouldn't beat yourself up on this. Here were their final stats:

Pedroia - .380 OBP 86 runs 8 HR 50 RBI 7 SB
DeJesus - .351 OBP 101 runs 7 HR 58 RBI 10 SB

other than OBP and runs, it's kind of a wash. More importantly, it's not assured that Pedroia would be one of your keeper-level players. Will he imporve on those numbers next year? Who knows what his ceiling is, but it's not necessarily keeper-level high.
