Hoosiers Schmooisers.

Seriously, the Daley-Bart Peterson bet is gonna suck. Does Indy have any decent food that isn't a chain? ;)

Well, the Indy guy could always bet race tickets...

yes, though admittedly it's not as distinctive/unique :)

This was the first I knew that Indianapolis had won. When I left for Mass, New England was still comfortably ahead. When I came back and checked my friend's page (which I did before checking the score), I saw this.

Shapiro's Deli on the south side of Indianapolis is an old, traditional eating place in Indy, well worth the visit. If you go to the Athenaeum in downtown Indy, order the Hot Brown.

If you're willing to travel an hour south to Bloomington, you can sample all kinds of great eating: the Dalai Lama's brother owns a Tibetan restaurant here, Janko's Little Zagreb is the most amazing steakhouse I've ever eaten in, the Samira is authentic Afghan food, there are some very nice microbrew pubs, etc. etc.

I say this as a former Hoosier, but I don't think Indianapolis should be showing off its delis, steakhouse and microbrews vs. Chicago.

Indiana has some great, distinctive food that's better than its rivals elsewhere. Think Amish beef and noodles, all manner of pies and sweet corn. But as much as I like Indy, it's no New Orleans, Chicago, Philly or New England when it comes to Super Bowl betting options.

They should just admit it and put up some South Bend chocolate.

I'll put St. Elmo's up against any steakhouse in the country.

Other than that, Bona is pretty much right.

Indy does tenderloins really well, and popcorn, but there isn't really a distinctive local food that I can think of.

BTW, this was my preseason Super Bowl matchup, just so everyone knows.

Was there a fire at that steakhouse? ;)

Weak.

Trust me...you've met me...food is one area in which I have some expertise.
